Recently, i heard about the computer addicts thingy. getting worst. well, its all expected. Its has always been a problem to all the developed countries. Singapore is one of the worst hit. Seriously.. do you know not all children in other countries get to have a computer at home? haha. They have less exposure to computer games. but in singapore children as young as 7 (my niece) is already using facebook! LOL. well, what made me wanna blog about this was what miss Gopal said about this. she said something really cool.

this is what she said (smthing like that..)

" We can use the computer, but not to use is in a harmful way. When we use the
computer, we should not compromise our values. Values should always be with us."

then she said about the news, about facebook.. and the school rules about cyber bullying. I have heard all that for years and i am sure i can memories all the safety steps to use the computer safely. i am sure everyone knows that, haha.. they just choose not to follow. right? :] well.. what made me think about was the word "VALUES".

i seriously agree with her. values should not be compromised. give you an example.. while you were playing your dota or whatever, your mum needs help in the kitchen. she asked for help and you ignore her, asking her to shut up.. well, ignoring your heart of wanting to honour your parents as you give into the desires of getting entertained, or maybe just the comfort of chatting with your friends. i think this example is simple enough to know how values are kept aside with the computers. sounds weird, but that's what people have been doing! familiar? haha

how do know you're addicted to the computer or computer games? well, i'll tell you. if you spend about 6 hours in front of the computer frequently. or maybe.. you skip drinking water or eating proper meals. :] check if you're addicted okay.. haha. we must be careful about such things to be wise in our daily choices. especially those who are taking olevels with me this year.

do you know why computer games are soooo attractive? haha. especially dota, LOL. idk, maybe you're not familiar with that, but my circle of friends EVEN MY BROTHERS are playing this game. these war focus on winning a war to save the world etc. i am not very sure about the game.. but i read these from the newspaper. haha. hm.. and these 'winning' feeling is too good to resist. who doesn't want to win? who doesn't want glory to their skills? haha. i think every human being have the desire to be assured and being look up to. These games are easier to tackle than the things in real life. People find it harder to have victory in real life.. so, cyber is a better place to win! well, you wontlose anything, right? haha. you can always change a new account and start another 'new' life.

for me, i stopped playing games since primary six.. because i lost interest with all of them. these endless challenge and quest that brings nothing, but entertainment. They don't make my parents proud of me.. but make them unhappy and sad for me. However, i started blogging with the influence of jay. well, it wasn't a bad influence.. i like blogging a lot.. but my language is really... cannot make it -.- anyway.. i spend most of the time blogging and chatting. At that time, i have to share the computer with my whole family. My daddy just check some mails, my brothers are gamers.. which means.. i don't really have much time to use anyway. i get to use the computer often this year.. as my brother had his own laptop and my elder brother started wearing pixel greenish uniform. :] well, but this is quite a temptation i had, i wanted to study!! haha.
